Zuco 103 blend jazzy electronic pop, trip-hop, and lightweight drum & bass with the joyful sounds of Brazilian samba, bossa nova, and tropicalia. Although vocalist Lillian Vieira is Brazilian, her two bandmates are Dutch and German, lending a distinct blend of European and South American musical styles to the music. The result is a refreshingly light, airy sound that can swing from groovy, chirpy electropop ("Brazilectro") that sounds like a South American Stereolab to campy modern exotica ("No Bar do Samba") and funky hip-hop lite ("Auga Mineral") with a few stops at the drum & bass shop in between.
