Details: Amazon.ca This live recording from July 18 1975 at London's Lyceum captures more than just a superb concert but a defining moment in reggae history, especially in Britain. Police had to be drafted in to move on thousands of ticketless fans from around the venue that night, while those who got in fell irresistibly under the spell of Marley's charisma. As a direct result of this gig, Rastafarianism took off in Britain bigtime, spawning a generation of British reggae bands who would go on to become a significant presence in the music scene in the late 1970s and early 80s. In spite of the clarity of Live At The Lyceum, the sheer electricity of the occasion can only be imagined. However, the call-and-response sections of "No Woman, No Cry" and "Get Up, Stand Up", balming and galvanising, give some sense of the artist holding complete sway. Decades on, you can still feel the warmth rising from these recordings. --David Stubbs Product description MARLEY BOB & THE WAILERS
