Brand: K7
Features:
- Dirty
- Swayzak
- Dancing
Format: remixes
PartNumber: 730003712821
Release Date: 30-09-2011
Details: Amazon.ca David Broom and James Taylor cleanse their sampler of all traces of the house influences that defined previous albums, dipping their toes instead into the fashionable field of electroclash. Dirty Dancing starts strongly with "Make Up Your Mind", a stark mixture of bubbling rhythm section and Clair Dietrich's crisply delivered vocal and is followed by "Buffalo Seven", another fine slice of Swayzak in which Klaus Kotai gives it up like the love child of Jim Morrison and Elvis. Towards the centre of the album things start to sag. Though all the essential clash elements are present and correct with plenty of retro rhythms, pop blips and sing-a-long lyrics, they never quite ignite. Even drafting in ultra-synthetic überchick Nicola Kuperus for a star turn in "I Dance Alone" fails to catch the street smarts of "Adult", and though things start to pick up within Dietrich's return in "Sob 1" and the upbeat "Ping Pong", a lingering lack of authenticity has rooted itself too deeply to be usurped. --Kingsley Marshall Product Description Swayzak release their album on Studio K7, featuring the vocal talents of Clair Dietrich, Klaus Kotai and Adult.
